1st Grade Patterns

In math, we have been working on patterns. It is a spiraling concept that was first introduced in Kindergarten. In first grade, students are asked not only to identify patterns, such as ABAB, but to create and extend their own patterns, with not only letters, but shapes, objects and even events in their life. Here, we are featuring electronic stamp patterns created in the computer lab using a program called Kidspirations. The students also thought about pattern in their own life and illustrated in the paper entitled A Pattern in My Life.
